Democrats and liberals in many rural places face at least three basic challenges: First, the party and liberals more broadly have a bad brand. Second, there is declining community and civic engagement, as polarization, mistrust and economic struggles deter people from reaching out to their neighbors. Third, the local Democratic party is struggling, in some cases barely hanging on.
Wouldn’t it be great if we had effective ways to overcome these challenges? We do! Community Works, RUBI’s local engagement initiative, is having major positive impacts across all three of those problems, in Virginia, Georgia and bit by bit, five other states where chapters have launched. Please join Meredith Dean and Anthony Flaccavento as they discuss the results of a recent analysis of CWorks impacts and plans to expand it to new states across the US.
